Now I am going to add my thoughts on each segment of this article in blue, and will attempt to give my perspective on each in very common sence logic and reasoning....

SALT LAKE CITY -- Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Tuesday the world faces "a new type of fascism" and warned against repeating the pre-World War II mistake of appeasement. He must mean the appeasement of German citizens of letting a 'dictator' try to rule the Earth..

Rumsfeld alluded to critics of the Bush administration's war policies in terms associated with the failure to stop Nazism in the 1930s, "a time when a certain amount of cynicism and moral confusion set in among the Western democracies."-So he is saying that America is like the German people in not standing up to Hitler..

The term "other radicals" is very broad..

Without explicitly citing Bush critics at home or abroad, he said "it is apparent that many have still not learned history's lessons." Aides to Rumsfeld said later he was not accusing the administration's critics of trying to appease the terrorists but was cautioning against a repeat of errors made in earlier eras.-Well, that is true, we have continued to allow Bush, and people like him run this country for some time now. And the last part of this is a new form of "newspeak" that Im not aware of yet.. But I think it is called idiot talk..

Speaking to several thousand veterans at the American Legion's national convention, Rumsfeld said that as fascism and Nazism took hold in Europe, those who warned of a coming crisis were ridiculed or ignored. He quoted Winston Churchill as observing that trying to accommodate Hitler was "a bit like feeding a crocodile, hoping it would eat you last."-Yes, we are being ridiculed and ignored as well, it is to bad that most people cant hear things like you say, and not see the simple truth of what they mean. They say with the crocodile metaphore, that they are going to eat us here in the US, because we accommodate there bloody hunger for power and wealth..

"I recount this history because once again we face similar challenges in efforts to confront the rising threat of a new type of fascism," he said.-Yes, once again, history is reapeating itself with dictators, and nasty men..

"Can we truly afford to believe that somehow, some way, vicious extremists can be appeased?" he asked.-You mean,Hitler, sorry, the government cannot be appeased..

"Can we truly afford to return to the destructive view that America _ not the enemy _ is the real source of the world's troubles?"-First of all, who is the "enemy", and yes America is a very distructive view.

Rumsfeld spoke to the American Legion as part of a coordinated White House strategy, before the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, to take the offensive against administration critics at a time of doubt about the future of Iraq and growing calls to withdraw U.S. troops.-There strategy, to take 'offensive' action against the dessent? What does that mean, are they going to kill us, they really like killing people. Or maybe lock us up? Well they better draft more people first before they try anything like that..

Addressing the same audience later Tuesday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the Bush administration is countering extremism with hope and democracy, and that history will bear out that strategy.-So they want to fight extremism with democracy, or dropping bombs on there country, history will bear out the stategy huh? That means that dong know what the fuck to do.. LOL..

"If we quit before the job is done, the cost of failure will be severe, indeed immeasurable," Rice said.-Yes, if they quit before the job is done, the cost of failure should be a hanging, of course there job is world domination..

"If we abandon the Iraqi people before their government is strong enough to secure the country, we will show reformers across the region that America cannot be trusted to keep its word," she added.-The sooner they abandon the Iragi people, the better!! The government was doing fine before the US showed up.. What does "we will show 'reformers across the region" mean? Does that mean that the other cells the US has in Iran and other places, the cells that create chaos for them, will then give up on the promise from the US that it will destroy a place, these are probally CIA, MI5, cells..

Bush was scheduled to speak here later in the week.

Rumsfeld recalled a string of recent terrorist attacks, from 9/11 to deadly bombings in Bali, London and Madrid, and said it should be obvious to anyone that terrorists must be confronted, not appeased.-Fear tactic, most of these events have been PROVEN to be from the governments' own doing.. All there saying is, if you dong follow us, we will cause you more terror..

"But some seem not to have learned history's lessons," he said, adding that part of the problem is that the American news media have tended to emphasize the negative rather than the positive.Uhhh, what positve, there is no positive, it is all negative. Positive would be the civil servies back online, there trade imbargos lifted, and the occupation out of there country, as well as all the sercret agents being removed.. The media, just like with Hitler, is controlled by the government..

He said, for example, that more media attention was given to U.S. soldiers' abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib than to the fact that Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith received the Medal of Honor. This is a classic straw man argument, create a subject about nothing, and defend it as it being of real importance. This would be like saying war is good, and someone saying war is bad, and the person who says it is good says " well at least the troops iron there uniforms before going out to kill people for reasons that are highly unethical and beyond said reasoning. That is right Americans are crazy..

He did acknowledge that the U.S. military has its own "bad actors _ the ones who dominate the headlines today _ who don't live up to the standards of the oath and of our country." But he added that they are a small percentage of the hundreds of thousands of troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He must now be speaking about Bush himself, for most of the troops are just pawns anyway, the only good or bad apple is there commander..

"Those who know the truth need to speak out against these kinds of myths and lies and distortions being told about our troops and about our country," he said. We are speaking out about you liars, warmongering evil assholes, and we are coming for you, it is only a matter of time, before you swing from the trees'..

On Monday, Vice President Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld made separate addresses to the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Reno, Nev. There getting desperate, so they go to the old brainwashies, instead of facing the future..

Rumsfeld made similar arguments in Reno about doubters of the administration's approach to fighting terrorism, saying too many in this country want to "blame America first" and ignore the enemy. Theres that word the "enemy" again, sounds like some character from a childrens book to me.. We all know who the real enemy is anyway, there is no stoping it rummy...

Rumsfeld's remarks ignited angry rebukes from Democrats. The democrats are nothing but a release valve for the republicans, in the constant dance between the two, both being from the same 'body' though..

"It's a political rant to cover up his incompetence," said Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., a former Army officer and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Now there looking for the way out, since bush is taking a fall, the same people who control bush control the dems, and they are desperate to keep dorthy from looking under the veil..

Reed said he took particular exception to the implication that critics of Pentagon policies are unpatriotic, citing "scores of patriotic Americans of both parties who are highly critical of his handling of the Department of Defense." Pure double speak... Read it real, real slow...

Rep. John Murtha, the hawkish Pennsylvania Democrat who voted in favor of the war but recently called for troops to withdraw, said in a statement: "It's interesting to me that they generalize the support for the war. They're not realistic with the fact that there's no progress."-Wow,someone in government is not such a pawn, well maybe...

Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., chimed in that Rumsfeld's remarks were trying to "shoot the messenger" rather than examine failed policy.

Im getting tired of all this, this regurgitation, if the majority of people cant see the simple truth of it all, then we need to be destroyed anyway...
